We recently purchased thousands of rolls of original retro/vintage auto upholstery dating from the 50s to the 80s. There is a huge variety of different kinds of fabric in the lot. Many of them (though not all) are appropriate for general upholstery.
This piece would work for general upholstery though it doesn't have a lot of give.
This fabric was originally made in the 1980s for an unknown car. It is a plush velour in a classic 80s style. This is a roll end so I only have 1 2/3 yards that has an additional piece attached that is 20 by 38 inches. There is a yellow line down one edge. The fabric is 63 inches wide.
